This is how central planners like to convince us we should act as rational partners for the communal good. They love the idea that they can control our every move. It’s probably why most self-reliant people live outside cities, or don’t fume in traffic because at least they’re in their own car with some control over routes, times and fellow passengers.
I look at these denuded streets and see North Korea and Soviet Moscow. I guess I’m supposed to see a great improvement in traffic flow, but I see lost opportunities, enforced central government policies and wasted opportunities.
