An enraged mob assaulted Memphis police, injuring 24 officers and destroying businesses, after U.S. Marshals shot and killed a felon who attempted to kill federal agents.

The violent riot started after Marshals attempted to arrest Brandon Webber, 20, who was wanted on multiple warrants.

“While attempting to stop the individual, he reportedly rammed his vehicle into the officers’ vehicles multiple times before exiting with a weapon,” according to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation press release. “The officers fired, striking and killing the individual. No officers were injured.”

That’s when a mob, radicalized by liberal rhetoric, began forming in the street.

A “crowd formed on Overton Crossing Street and Argonne Street. Memphis Police Department officers formed a barricade and soon brought out shields and batons, creating a standoff between the two sides,” the Tennessean reports.

“Crowd members yelled and threw rocks and bricks at patrol cars passing through, and gunshots were heard.”

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, in a Facebook post, detailed the injuries and damage inflicted by the liberal mob:

“I was proud of our first responders. I’m impressed by their professionalism and incredible restraint as they endured concrete rocks being thrown at them and people spitting at them. At least 24 officers and deputies were injured—6 were taken to the hospital. At least two journalists were injured. Multiple police cars were vandalized. A concrete wall outside a business was torn down. The windows were broken out at fire station 31.”
