It begins?: Colt shuts down AR-15 production

Facing threats from liberal lawmakers who want to confiscate AR-15s and create loopholes allowing activists to sue gunmakers for crimes committed with firearms, Colt Firearms announced they plan to cease producing the rifle.

Colt claims the decision was made due to “customer feedback.” According to Colt, there are more than enough AR-15 rifles on the market from other manufacturers, so they plan to focus on producing firearms for the military.

“We’re going to focus on the products that our consumers are asking for,” Colt senior vice president Paul Spitale said in a statement.

That claim is confusing, as the AR-15 is America’s best-selling and most popular rifle, indicating there aren’t enough rifles to meet demand.

Realizing the difficulty of passing laws banning private firearms ownerships, liberals have instead focused on eliminating guns at their source.

Anti-gun Democrat presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, who vows to not only ban production of the AR-15, but to forcibly seize those already owned, celebrated the news on Twitter.

O’Rourke has proposed banning credit card companies from allowing customers to buy any type of firearm.

Anti-gun lawmakers have also threatened banks that allow gunmakers to hold accounts and have proposed creating loopholes in liability law to make gunmakers the only manufacturer who can be held financially liable for others misusing their product.

As the rest of America rushes to purchase an AR-15 either to spite O’Rourke or because they truly fear they’ll lose the opportunity, Colt may want to reconsider their stance.
