While the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed after a lengthy and tense period, there will be even more reconciliation bills to follow in the coming months, said House Speaker Mike Johnson on Fox News Sunday today.
“We have been planning a second reconciliation bill for the fall that would be attached to the next fiscal year, and then, potentially one in the spring,” Johnson, R-La., announced. “That’s my plan: three reconciliation bills before this Congress is over.”
Johnson said this is all in an effort to “deliver that American first agenda” which the people elected Congress to do.

The “big, beautiful” bill is designed to uplift lower and middle-class Americans by making “the 2017 Trump tax cuts” permanent, Johnson said.
The bill is historic because it includes “the largest savings for the taxpayers in U.S. history, about $1.6 trillion in savings,” helping the “people who go out and work hard every day,” Johnson said.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act also cuts taxes on overtime, tips and gives seniors more tax relief, the speaker noted.
The Council of Joint Economic Advisers predicts “a 3% growth rate in the economy,” the addition of four million jobs, and for the average U.S. household to have an added $13,000 in take-home pay, Johnson added.
“We’re giving everybody a tax cut, and that’s going to help the economy,” Johnson said. “We’re super excited about what we were able to deliver.”
Additionally, Johnson stated the bill will permanently secure the border, make America dominant in energy again, and invest in the military in an effort to stay ahead of China.
“We’re excited about the upcoming election cycle in ’26 because people will be riding an economic high, just as we did after the first two years of the first Trump administration,” Johnson declared. “This time, it’s on steroids.”
