Dembargo ends – Big money back in play

The Hollywood Dembargo, a term coined to describe a temporary halt on political donations from the entertainment industry, was lifted following President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. This decision paved the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic nominee.

The move led to an outpouring of support from Hollywood donors and celebrities, including actors George Clooney and Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as rapper Cardi B.

The endorsement from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees further solidified Harris’s backing from the entertainment industry.
