In 2020, Donald Trump commuted the sentence of Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois Governor convicted of corruption. He did this despite being excoriated by Illinois Republicans. Trump excused it by saying, “That was a tremendously powerful, ridiculous sentence.”
Blagojevich recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, (below) again alleging his conviction was a setup by U.S. Attorneys and the FBI to benefit Barack Obama by selling his vacated Senate seat to Valerie Jarrett. (Jarrett is CEO of the Barack Obama Foundation and a senior advisor to President Obama. It has been suggested that the current White House is largely being controlled by her.) The interference of Obama was well reported at the time.
Blagojevich’s ability to now voice these allegations publicly could suggest either a lapse in control by those he accuses “Deep State” or, conversely, a strategic release of information by opposing forces (“White Hats”*) to expose corruption.
This cycle, Blagovjevich is singing out against his former party. “What’s the priorities of today’s Democratic Party?” Blagojevich said on Jesse Watters Primetime Wednesday. “The Democrats stand for the elites in Hollywood over working people, the illegal migrants over black people, bureaucrats over parents, gang bangers, carjackers, and brazen retail thieves over law-abiding citizens and the police, and trans women over biological women in women sports.”
“And they came up against a guy, Donald Trump, who actually hears the people, who has actually has his priorities set on what’s best for this country and for the people,” he continued. “I think they’re going to have a hard time overcoming this new Trump Republican Party.”
Remember when Trump commuted the sentence of former IL Governor Rod Blagojevich in 2020 and everyone freaked out?

*White Hats: individuals or groups perceived as ethical hackers, whistleblowers, or insiders within political, military, or intelligence communities who work to expose corruption, misconduct, or hidden truths. They aim to serve the public interest by revealing information that has been concealed by those in power, often referred to as the “Deep State” in conspiracy theories.
