Sowell: You only need three questions to destroy any argument from the left.

What a huge intellect Thomas Sowell has! And let’s tip our hats to the memory of Fred Barnes and a time when TV interviewers were smart, polite, and let the interviewee talk.

Thomas Sowell (born June 30, 1930) is an American economist, economic historian, social philosopher and political commentator. He is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. With widely published commentary and books—and as a guest on TV and radio—he is a well-known voice in the American conservative movement as a prominent black conservative. He was a recipient of the National Humanities Medal from President George W. Bush in 2002.

The questions?

1. Compared to what? 2. At what cost? 3. What hard evidence do you have?
