Corrupt FBI’s “pipe-bomb” story unraveling fast

The narrative surrounding the FBI’s investigation into the January 6th pipe bomb incident has taken a significant turn with the release of a congressional report.

The bombs, which were placed near the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters on the eve of January 6, 2021, were described by the FBI as viable devices capable of causing serious harm. Kamala Harris, then Vice President-elect, was reported to be in close proximity to one of these devices, having entered the DNC building just 20 feet from where the bomb was later discovered.

A report released yesterday by House Republicans shows that the FBI not only obtained retail info on shoes, backpack, explosive elements used by the “pipe bomber” but other evidence pointed to a few suspects. The FBI basically called off the investigation in Feb 2021.

The congressional findings suggest a potential coverup by the FBI. According to the report, there is conflicting information regarding the integrity of cellular data provided by major carriers to the FBI. A former senior FBI official claimed that the data was “corrupted” and might have included the identity of the pipe bomber. However, when pressed by the Subcommittee, these carriers denied providing any corrupted data and stated that they were never informed by the FBI of any issues with the data they supplied.

The investigation’s progress has been notably slow, with no arrests or charges made against any individual for planting the bombs, despite significant law enforcement efforts in other aspects of the January 6th events. This contrasts sharply with the rapid identification and arrest of numerous individuals involved in the Capitol breach, leading to skepticism about the FBI’s commitment or capability in pursuing this particular case.

Posts on X (formerly Twitter) have reflected widespread public frustration and skepticism about the lack of progress in the investigation, with some users suggesting that the FBI might have engaged in a coverup. This public sentiment is fueled by the apparent disparity in investigative outcomes between the pipe bomb case and other January 6th related activities.

The FBI refused to provide the Subcommittees with additional information about these investigative leads.

This situation raises questions about the priorities and methods of the FBI’s investigation into the pipe bombs, particularly given the potential threat they posed to public figures like Kamala Harris and the integrity of government operations. The ongoing lack of resolution in this case continues to be a point of contention and scrutiny.

Capitol Police

The Capitol Police have also faced scrutiny and have been implicated in discussions around the January 6th pipe bomb investigation.

  • Discovery of the Bombs: According to testimony, it was two members of the Capitol Police’s undercover counter-surveillance team who discovered one of the pipe bombs at the DNC around 1:07 PM on January 6, 2021.
  • Response and Coordination: There was criticism regarding the response time and coordination between various law enforcement agencies, including the Capitol Police. For instance, after being notified of the pipe bomb at the RNC at 12:44 PM by a security guard, there was a delay in setting up perimeters and evacuating areas around both bomb sites, which were only cleared several hours later.
  • Allegations of Involvement: Some posts on X have speculated or claimed that certain Capitol Police officers might have been complicit or involved in the events of January 6th, including the pipe bomb placement. These claims range from officers being involved in a setup to entrap protesters to allegations of officers changing into Trump apparel after entering a room in uniform, suggesting an inside job or complicity. However, these are claims from social media and should be taken with caution due to their speculative nature.
  • Investigation and Evidence Handling: There are allegations that the FBI took control of all evidence, including from the pipe bomb sites, which might have restricted other agencies like the Capitol Police from further investigation or from gaining access to crucial information.
