At the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit in Pittsburgh, hosted by Sen. Dave McCormick at Carnegie Mellon University, President Donald Trump announced over $90 billion in private sector investments in tech, energy, and finance to establish Pennsylvania as a hub for artificial intelligence (AI). Trump emphasized America’s “destiny” to dominate every industry, particularly AI, asserting the U.S. is significantly ahead of China.
Investments include $25 billion from Blackstone for data centers and energy infrastructure, $25 billion from Google for AI and data centers, $3 billion from Brookfield for hydroelectric power to support Google’s facilities, $20 billion from Amazon for data centers, $14 billion from Nippon Steel with U.S. Steel, and Constellation Energy’s plan to reopen a Three Mile Island nuclear reactor for Microsoft’s data centers. These initiatives aim to leverage Pennsylvania’s energy resources, like natural gas and coal, to drive AI and economic growth.
