As I send this email, the President is still talking about his plans to address the crime wave in the Nation’s Capital, where: “The murder rate in Washington today is higher than that of Bogotá, Colombia… The number of car thefts has doubled over the past five years, and the number of carjackings has more than tripled.” Excoriating the Left he said of D.C.’s Radical Left government: “They turned our nation’s capital into a sanctuary jurisdiction … It’s sanctuary for CRIMINALS.“
President Trump just announced he is invoking the D.C. Home Rule Act to place the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control and deploy the National Guard. “This is Liberation Day in D.C. — and we’re going to take our capital BACK.” He also said that he’s getting rid of Washington’s slums: “We’re getting rid of the slums. I know it’s not politically correct, ‘Oh, it’s so terrible.’ No. We’re getting rid of them.” “”ust this past weekend, gunfire went through the Navy Yard. I saw that they fought back against police. See, they fight back until you knock the hell out of them because it’s the only language they understand...”
