As Title 42 ends at the strike of midnight May 10 into May 11 – buses of migrants are already lining up to enter America via every border crossing. All of a sudden the Biden Administration has woken up to the epic tide of humanity about to sweep across our borders and overwhelming the inadequate provision it has made for this well-publicized event. Lured by messages that “Joe Biden says come to America – all are welcome” nearly a million people await the end of Title 42.

Finally, today Secretary Mayorkis took to the news networks to tell these migrants that they will be harshly dealt with and returned, ineligible for reentry for five years. If this knowledge gets to the migrants who have made the journey on foot, let’s not expect an orderly line to form. These people will be frustrated and feel they have nothing to lose. Expect trouble for our grossly out-manned border guards and their assistants.

“Biden has rebuilt our refugee processing capabilities and has committed to a large number of refugee admissions … Biden has expanded lawful pathways for migrants like no other president.”
Secretary Mayorkis, DHS
When the Trump-era Title 42 public health Order lifts on May 11, 2023, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will revert to fully utilizing Title 8 immigration enforcement processes.
Under Title 8, those who unlawfully cross the border are subject to criminal consequences, including possible deportation, prosecution, and a five-year bar on reentry.
The Department of Homeland Security says its message remains clear to those seeking to come to the United States: Do not believe smugglers. Do not put your life at risk by taking the dangerous journey only to be sent back. Use lawful pathways to come to the United States. The United States will continue to remove noncitizens who arrive without authorization.
This is the official DHS video warning people to stay the other side of the border and not to start a journey to get here.
