The economic disarray foisted on the American people under the Biden Administration is driving away Hispanics at an alarming rate, with nearly 60% of Hispanic voters saying they disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as President.
The latest CBS News / YouGov poll shows Biden’s disapproval rating among Hispanics has ticked up a full 7 percentage points in just a month, with 59% of Hispanic voters now saying they disapprove of the job Biden is doing as President, up from 52% in May. Hispanic voters now disapprove of Biden at close to the same rates as Whites do, and that could spell catastrophe for Democrats next election cycle.
The President’s approval rating among Hispanics reflects a significant downward trajectory when compared to a comprehensive survey conducted by UnidosUS after the 2022 midterms. The earlier poll revealed that 64% of Hispanics approved of Biden’s job performance, indicating a complete erosion of Hispanic support in just over six months.
However, it isn’t just that Hispanics voters disapprove of Biden, they strongly disapprove. The YouGov survey shows 31% – the largest portion – of Hispanics strongly disapprove of Biden’s performance as president.
Unsurprisingly, economic issues including jobs and inflation are driving forces behind Biden’s sinking approval ratings. However, Hispanics are particularly sensitive to the Biden economy and its unholy alliance of skyrocketing inflation and job insecurity. Latinos have recently been giving Biden lower marks on several economic issues than either Whites or Blacks. On inflation, a full 78% of Hispanics disapprove of the job Biden is doing, compared to 72% of Whites and 49% of Blacks.
Hispanics and Whites disapprove of Biden’s handling of jobs and employment at identical rates with 60% of both groups giving Biden a thumbs down for his handling of jobs and employment, while just 29% of Blacks are critical of Biden’s handling of jobs and employment.
On the economy overall, 68% of Hispanics compared to 67% of Whites and 42% of Blacks disapprove of the job Biden is doing.
Which candidate and party Hispanics voters will support in 2024 remains to be seen, but less than half (43%) currently say they will support a Democratic candidate in the primaries. Thirty-two percent are committed to a Republican primary candidate, 10% say they will support neither major party, and 15% remain undecided according to YouGov data.
These numbers are part of a worrying trend for Democrats, in which Hispanics are moving away from the radical left’s catastrophic economic agenda.
Despite facing a widespread smear campaign, institutional bias, censorship, and questionable election tactics aimed at preventing Trump from assuming office, the Democratic Party experienced a notable decline in Latino support throughout 2020. Notably, Trump’s share of the Hispanic vote rose by 10 percentage points from 28% in 2016 to 38% in 2020.
Despite employing similar tactics, Democrats encountered significant setbacks in their support from Latinos during the 2022 midterm elections compared to 2018. They experienced a loss of 21 points among Latino men, shifting from a 29-point advantage in 2018 to just 8 points in 2022. Additionally, Latino women showed reduced support for Democrats by 14 points in 2022 compared to 2018.
While far from a majority of Hispanics say they will support a GOP primary candidate in 2024, well over half are not committed to supporting a Democratic candidate either. The 57% of Hispanic voters who are committed to a Republican candidate or open to another option has got to be worrying to Democratic strategists.
The globalists in power are doing everything they can to prop up Joe Biden long enough to secure another four years in part because he is easy to manipulate, but his numbers continue to drop. The fact that Hispanics – a reliably Democratic constituency – are reversing their support is evidence of a growing coalition of working-class voters who want to wrestle the country back from the claws of globalists and corporatists.
