Frameshifting occurs due to pseudouridylation (pseudouridine = synthetic/manmade as opposed to natural uridine). This disrupts the usual process of protein production in our cells leading to ribosomal frameshifting via the mRNA platform. This means random “junk” proteins are created and no one knows what they will do to us.
