FDA approve untested “anti-burp” additive for cattle – Here’s what’s wrong with it

Are there really people out there that believe cows are causing climate change?

The FDA has recently approved Bovaer for use in US dairy cattle. The methane-reducing feed supplement is expected to launch commercially later this year. It’s a response to the non-problem of “cows producing too much methane” and as usual with these zealots it creates more problems then it solves. It is made by DSM-firmenich, a Dutch company.

The US is not the only place where this is happening. When the news broke in the UK and Australia that this drug has been administered for years to certain herds, their products were instantly boycotted and began to stack up in stores.

Smaller and organic herds were quick to say they wanted no part of this. The Soil Association of the UK which assesses what is and is not organic was quick to condemn it. The people spoke loud and instantly, insisting that their milk, chocolate, desserts and beef be left well alone from this chemical. We should prepare to do this here.

Why is it a problem?

The science on farts and belches from cows is far from agreed upon. And seriously, who thinks cows are a greater threat than untested chemicals?

Halfway through this thread you will hear Elon Musk talking to Joe Rogan on this topic. “The animals are not going to make any difference to global warming.” “I want to be super clear about that. It will not matter, you will not even be able to measure it.”
