This company studies the molecular properties of non-animal products like beans and finds the ones that mimic animals. It also takes cells from one sample of animals, like a feather, and develops them in the laboratory until they create lab-grown meat. It is never taken from a live animal.

Most of us love to eat real animals. But not everyone does. And in some places, it’s tough to ranch or farm animals. Obviously, farmers are not thrilled by this development. The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association petitioned the USDA to declare that “meat” and “beef” exclude products not “slaughtered in the traditional manner.”
