The single-engine plane was en route from Arkansas to Coleman A. Young International Airport in Detroit on Sunday night when it apparently struck a power line and tree.

Police said a 54-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman perished in the fiery crash, but the couple’s 17-year-old son miraculously survived.

According to news reports, the pilot of the plane reported low fuel and a landing gear issue shortly before the crash.
