Mother grizzly protecting cub from Black Bear

Holy Moly, look at her go. Straight up the tree – twice! Rips all the boughs off! This is one serious mother bear. Apparently, black bears will prey on grizzly cubs and this momma is having none of it.

Grizzlies will attack in defense of their cubs (Black bears don’t) and they are very tenacious. If you are ever attacked by a grizzly (usually a brown color) lie down with your legs wide apart (so she can’t flip you so easily) and lace your hands behind your neck to take the brunt of the attack. Play dead.

And proof that just sometimes, they don’t try to eat us!
