What the h*ll? CDC now says coronavirus ‘does not spread easily’ on surfaces and objects

If you were one of those people wiping down groceries and packages, or leaving them for a day or so before opening, you can probably stop now. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now says the novel virus “does not spread easily” from “touching surfaces or objects.” 

The federal agency has subtly shifted its guidelines from March which simply said it “may be possible” to spread the virus from contaminated surfaces. (Archived)

In other words the CDC is clueless. They are scrambling around in the dark and making proclamations based on the latest “research.” This is not acceptable behavior for the lead agency but is completely predictable. The CDC was founded for a useful purpose – to combat malaria – and has suffered fatal mission creep, absorbing all manner of trendy nonsense and losing its way under the misdirection of leftist bureaucrats who see the process as much more important than the outcome.

They have one job. To protect public health. Its current Director, Robert Ray Redfield Jr. should be examined very closely by Congress to determine why we are so far behind the eight ball in our dealings with the SARS-CoV-2 virus during this COVID-19 outbreak.
