Earlier this month, the Biden administration reinstated the “catch and release” policy by Executive Order (covered here), allowing detained migrants who are deemed “low risk” to be released into the United States pending court dates.
During the recent epic and unusual snowstorms, coupled with COVID, south Texas communities along the U.S.-Mexico border have disproportionately felt the effects of these aliens being released into their localities.
In the border town of Del Rio, the Democratic mayor, Bruno Lozano has posted a video pleading with Biden to stop releasing unlawful migrants into his city and the neighboring areas and voicing his deep concern over Biden’s misplaced immigration priorities stating that the city does not have the resources available to house and accommodate migrants.
