Food Waste to Fire Logs! Genius

Look at this. Using discarded fruit from cider production, this man has made burnable logs to replace firewood and charcoal. Luckily he lives in a culture that doesn’t see open flames and smoke as undesirable! I often wonder how long it will be before some do-gooder bans open fires.

In case you’re on the fence, it’s worth considering that when calculating the global footprint of firewood that it is locally sourced which reduces the costs and effects of transportation. Wood is carbon neutral as it’s renewed within 30 to 70 years – a very short time when compared with the millennia for fossil fuels. Wood heat only produces ashes which is better for the environment than the waste generated by nuclear power (still my favorite!- Kelly) and the massively toxic waste resulting from solar panels, wind turbines and batteries.
