Beware: The latest Amazon phone scam

413

I just got a call that, interestingly, muted itself so it could leave a voicemail message claiming I had made a several thousand dollar purchase of a Mac laptop and some AirPods. However, the charge needed confirmation and I should press 1.

I had not ordered from Amazon.

This was an attempt to scare me into thinking someone had made a purchase on my Prima account. They were trying to lure me into giving private information such as my SSN. I just deleted it.

But not everyone with a phone expects to be conned. Please watch this and share with you very young, very old or very sheltered friends and family.
