Kids these days are addicted to technology which is beyond their parents control. It’s affecting their brains without their own knowledge. This could lead to an increase in depression rate and many more dangerous effects for the future generation.
As a parent, grandparent or boss, you can help mitigate the risk of the serious damage that might happen for the upcoming generation.
Watch this short but very powerful talk from Simon Sinek, and start to review not just your habits but those of your family’s.
Studies have shown that frequent cell phone use can alter the patterns of brain activity in children, particularly in areas of the brain involved in attention and decision-making. For example, one study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives found that children who used cell phones for more than 15 minutes a day had different patterns of brain activity than those who used them less frequently. Specifically, the study found that the frequent cell phone users had increased activity in the regions of the brain responsible for processing visual information and decreased activity in the regions responsible for processing information related to attention and decision-making. While more research is needed to fully understand the long-term effects of cell phone use on brain development, these findings suggest that excessive cell phone use can have negative effects on the developing neural pathways in children’s brains.
