- Ingredients:
- Vanilla extract
- Water
- Optional: Essential oils (citronella, lemongrass, eucalyptus) or a pinch of ground cinnamon
- Method:
- Mix: Use a ratio of 1 part vanilla extract to 3 parts water in a spray bottle. So, for example, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to 3 tablespoons of water. If adding essential oils, just a few drops will suffice due to their potency. Add a few drops of essential oil or a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
- Shake: Ensure ingredients are well mixed before each use.
- Apply: Spray on skin or clothing. Reapply as needed.
- Tips:
- Patch test for allergies.
- Natural repellents may need frequent reapplication.

Bonus
If you want to get rid of flies, mix 1 part of apple cider vinegar to 3 parts of water.
Others contend that Catnip essential oil is the best mosquito repellent and works way better than vanilla. I have never tried this. Anyone got any input?
