Democrats drag out Joe to lie about Social Security cuts

Last night, Joe Biden, in his first major post-presidency speech at a disability advocates’ conference in Chicago, accused President Donald Trump of severely damaging Social Security. Speaking for about 30 minutes, Biden claimed Trump’s administration has “taken a hatchet” to the Social Security Administration, aligning with Democrats’ warnings on a self-proclaimed Social Security Day of Action.

He avoided naming Trump directly, calling him “this guy,” and briefly touched on national division, vaguely referencing a divisive 30% of the population, which conservatives interpreted as an attack on Trump supporters. Biden’s speech, while focused, included some rambling anecdotes about his working-class roots.

The White House, through press secretary Karoline Leavitt, dismissed Biden’s claims and took a jab at his age. “I’m shocked that he is speaking at nighttime,” Leavitt said during Tuesday’s White House press briefing. “I thought his bedtime was much earlier than his speech tonight.”

Leavitt highlighted Trump’s new memorandum to curb Social Security fraud by expanding fraud prosecution programs, targeting illegal aliens and ineligible recipients. The Social Security Administration itself rebutted Biden’s remarks on X, accusing him of lying.
