It is notable that Israel is not included in his list of countries he thanks. This was in his ultimatum, “Israel must immediately stop bombing Gaza”, and it generated positive reactions from Palestine, but shock and horror from the Israelis. This morning, reports in UK papers say ‘Dozens’ of airstrikes on Gaza despite Trump’s call for Israel to stop bombing immediately‘ as Palestinian officials accuse Israel of continuing to strike and shell Gaza City and other areas of the Strip.
