Grappling granny pistol whips stunned burglar

SIg SauerA Middletown, Ohio criminal picked the wrong house to try and burglarize.

70-year-old Louise Jones was awakened at 12:30 a.m. Monday by a noise in her kitchen.  When she went downstairs to investigate, she found a man trying to crawl in through the window.

That’s when she grabbed her gun.  When she returned, he was still trying to enter the home.

She was having none of that.

“I started scratching, digging at his skin, pushing him just knocking the crap out of him with my fists, and he couldn’t get in or out of the window,” Jones told local TV station WLWT.

The burglar was stuck, so she began beating him with the butt of her pistol.

“I don’t ever want to kill a person but if I have to, I will,” she said. “And I don’t believe that any woman or young girl that’s being attacked should run. Because she’s going to be killed anyways, I believe she should fight back.”

She showed surprising restraint, choosing to not shoot a trapped criminal.

The criminal dropped a hat, which was collected as evidence.  Police dogs tracked him to a nearby home, but he was not found there.  The search is ongoing.

But he probably won’t try that armed home again.
