If you’ve been waiting for the robot revolution, it may have just gotten a bit closer.

A Russian company called Promobot has put its Android Robo-C into production.

According to the company, the Android Robo-C can answer questions, greet visitors or do office administrative tasks for a full 8 hour battery charge.

“This is the first humanoid android in the world that not only mimics the human appearance, but is also able to integrate into business processes. We have already created one prototype, and now we will release a series,” co-founder and development director of the robot-making firm, Oleg Kivokurtsev, told TASS.

The android comes with 100,000 speech modules and can play over 600 facial expressions.

Promobot says they will make 10 androids a month at a price yet to be determined.

Are you ready for humanoid robots as bank tellers or cashiers? That may be the way it’s heading.
