He’s sending Kamala where now?

The Biden White House has now decided to send Vice-President Kamala Harris on a trip to eastern europe as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues to send a flood of refugees into the continent.

As Fox News reports:

Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Poland Monday, where American troops are stationed to assist with Ukrainian refugees, Fox News has learned.

The Harris trip is one of several diplomatic contacts between the U.S. and Poland, which has taken in around 650,000 refugees, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. President Biden spoke for nearly an hour with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Friday.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel separately to Poland on Saturday, and a small number of U.S. lawmakers will also fly to Europe this weekend and will meet with Harris Monday.

Harris is reportedly now a key part of the Biden Administration’s attempt to reach out to NATO allies in the region and will travel to Poland and Romania next week in a show of support for the NATO allies amid Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine. Harris will visit the national capitals Warsaw and Bucharest in a trip beginning Wednesday and lasting through March 11.

“Her visit will demonstrate the strength and unity of the NATO Alliance and U.S. support for NATO’s eastern flank allies in the face of Russian aggression,” the White House said in a statement Friday. “It will also highlight our collective efforts to support the people of Ukraine.”

Late last month, President Biden dispatched the veep on a peace mission to the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Russian President Vladimir Putin proceeded with the invasion of Ukraine shortly after that trip. Republican members of Congress ridiculed the visit, pointing to Harris failing to halt the ongoing US-Mexico border crisis as Biden’s migration czar.

Harris traveled to Munich to meet with several European allies in hopes of securing a united front in the event that Russia’s Vladimir Putin decides to invade Ukraine. She met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and promised “severe” economic sanctions if Russia releases its troops. However, both she and President Biden have said that Putin has already made up his mind on a potential invasion.

One particular clip of Harris addressing the press has drawn particular scorn on social media.

“I mean, listen guys, we are talking about the potential for war in Europe,” Harris said. “I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about.”
