A new Bill, S.3589 – “Preventing Private Paramilitary Activity Act of 2024
“, has been introduced in the Senate by Massachusetts leftist, Senator Edward Markey, and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
This Bill would ban militias which is a constitutional right.
(As an indication of where the Senator lies on the Left’s spectrum, last Friday, he announced the launch of “The Ed Markey Podcast” to discuss the impact and accomplishments of the Green New Deal movement so beloved of AOC.)
His Bill would outlaw:
- Militias (a Constitutional right) ‘‘(9) PRIVATE PARAMILITARY ORGANIZATION.— The term ‘private paramilitary organization’ means any group of 3 or more persons associating under a command structure for the purpose of functioning in public or training to function in public as a combat, combat support, law enforcement, or security services unit.”
- Speaking out of turn in any governmental assembly, including local townhall meetings
- Protesting governmental functions
- Boxing and/or martial arts classes
