The White House project “The Signers” is an initiative launched as part of the America 250 celebration, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. It focuses on highlighting the stories and contributions of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. Hosted on the official White House website, the project features detailed biographies of these individuals, showcasing their roles in the American Revolution and their sacrifices for independence. For example, it covers figures like Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and others, detailing their personal risks, financial contributions, and political efforts. Some, like Carter Braxton, lost fortunes, while others, like Arthur Middleton, became prisoners of war.
The project includes interactive elements, such as videos where the founders “come to life” to narrate their stories. It aims to educate the public about the diverse backgrounds and legacies of these historical figures. Go here to view them all.
